Fast food

Fast food is not a typical kind of board in the Czech republic. Main providers of this eating style are the McDonalds and KFC. They were opened very early after the Velvet revolution and fall of comunism. The restaurants look the same as other restaurants of that type in Europe. The meal, which is offered there, is the same. In the restaurants of KFC you can buy chickens with two different smacks: delicious Original Recipe or piguant Hot and Spicy. Special precoated mixture on chicken is made from eleven kinds of herbs and spice. The base of the mixture is flour. The most favorite product is fragile FILET sandwich prepared from breast of chicken served in gingili twist or piguanter ZINGER or pieces of chicken called STRIPS. There are crispy and super piguant chicken winglets HOT WINGS for lovers of really piguant meals. Corn, coleslaw and mashed potatoes with chicken sauce are very popular also there.
Another typical meal of fast food is hamburger, which you can buy in the McDonalds. Ingredients are mince beef, wheat twist, ketchup, mustard, gherkin, onion, salt and pepper.

Ethnic food

Before the Velvet revolution 1989 we could buy only Russian borsch. Itīs a soup made from potatoes, vegetables, meat and cream. After this revolution many foreigners came to our country and they have brought their own national meals.
Now in our country we can buy Japanese sushi which is fish with spice or sea-grass and rice. Greek gyros, Turkish kebab, both of these are made from lamb or pork meat and vegetables put in the roll called pita. Slovak gnocchi is made from mixture potatoes, bacon and sheep cheese. Spanish pajala is a cake with fish and meat. We can buy some of these meals (kebab or gyros) in the fastfood kiosk and in restaurants as well. This food is cheap but its quality isnīt high. You would rather visit specialized restaurants where the quality of served meal is very high. Owners of these ones are people from the countries where these meals are their national meals.

Drinks

Drinks in the Czech republic are almost the same as in all the world. The biggest concerns bring the drinks such as Coca-cola, Pepsi, Fanta, Sprite......
You can buy them everywhere - in shops, fastfoods and pizzerias. Our traditional drink is beer. We are very proud of it and that’s why you can buy it everywhere as well. It is not too expensive because our trade market is full of many kinds of beer. Some kinds of Czech beer, for example Pilsner-Urquell, are exported almost to all the world. We produce good wine, too, which you can buy in all shops. The law says you can buy spirits when you are older then 18 years.
