Soups

When you are hungry and you can´t go home to prepare some meal, you can go to a pub, a buffet or a snack bar and order some soup. You can eat it like main meal or like separate meal mostly with bread. We say that soup is the ground of meal in our country, so for many people it is an important part of meal.
There are a lot of kinds of soups: tripe soup, vegetable soup, tomato soup, pea soup,mushroom soup, lentil soup, fish soup (which is prepared especially for Christmas dinner), chicken soup, garlic soup, cabbage soup, beef broth with liver balls and so on. I think that typical soups which you can buy in our pubs are goulash soup, potato soup and chicken soup.
Here are some recipes of these soups: goulash soup consists of beef and pork meat, onion, potatoes, garlic and you can flavour it with pepper, salt and marjoram. Potato soup consists of  potatoes, root vegetable (celery,carrot, parsley), onion, garlic, flour and you can add mushrooms. Marjoram, salt and pepper are typical spices for these soups.

Garnished sandwiches

Garnished sandwiches consist of a spread or a potato salad, bread roll, salami or ham and some vegetables like gherkin, cucumber or tomato. We can put on also an egg and some cheese.
We can buy garnished sandwiches in almost every place, where we buy food, especially in butcheries.
The way how to prepare it:
We put on a thin slice of a bread roll spread or potato salad (potatoes, mayonnaise, fresh green peas and carrot). Then we decorate it with other ingredients. That is all. Enjoy your meal!

Cold smoked meats

We can buy some cold smoked meats such as: ham, headcheese and pickled knockwurst. Headcheese are little pieces of meat (pork or poultry) in the spicy aspic. We serve it with chopped onions and vinegar mostly.
Pickled knockwursts are soused knockwursts in vinegar´s infusion with chopped onions. We can find it in buffets, snack bars or in pubs and restaurants where they served it as appetizers. They are delicious.

Hot sausages

The quickest hot street food you can get is a boiled sausage. Sausages are made of pork meat, flour, garlic, salt and pepper. On the small paper tray you can buy a slice of bread and a pair of sausages which is always boiled in water. You can get mostly mustard or garnish of onion. It is the cheapest food and you can get it everywhere. Its different form is a hot dog. One sausage is put in the baget with tomato ketchup. Other sausages are prepared on fire and can be served on the paper tray, too, with a slice of bread, mustard and onion, sometimes with mayonnaise.

Mincemeat
Mincemeat is a typical fast food as well as sausages, hot dogs and so on. Mincemeat has a great advantage – you can eat it as a cold meat with bread, mustard or ketchup. Other way is eating it warm. After warming it you add spice according to your taste. I mean red pepper, salt and some meat spice. Nowadays it´s possible to buy mincemeat for gourmet. It´s a meat roll filled with cucumber, cheese, onion or other ingredients.
In modern butchery there can be a small snackbar (we call it bufet ). It´s the right place to order fresh mincemeat ( but only warm) with roll or bread.
There are other fast food like sausages, hot dogs and daily offer of course. Mincemeat isn´t only fast food. We eat it with side-dishes too. Mashed potatoes and chips go well with it.
