School "Emil Isac" was set up 70 years ago,in 1928.It lies in the North-West area of our town, near the Central Station. The district where the school lies is called "Dambul Rotund". It is an old and picturesque district with lots of vegetable gardens, orchards, parks and big, beautiful households.
The school has 2 floors, 19 classrooms, 4 of them being offices (Romanian Office, Geography, History and the Computer Office). It also has two laboratories (Chemistry-Physics and Biology), a gym and a sportsground. We have about 600 pupils, in 26 classes, 8 being Hungarian. We have many denominations such as Orthodox religion, Reformed Baptist and others. Beginning on September 2000 there is also a Hungarian assistant headmistress. She coordinates the activities of the Hungarian section. Our school pursues the learning of two foriegn languages (English and French), how to use the computers, a good use of Romanian language and also the development of logical thinking throughout Mathematics.
School "Emil Isac" has good results in school Olympiad. We obtained the 1st and the 3rd prize in the Romanian
zonal competition and also many awards for Biology, Chemistry and Religion. The pupils also gained many paiting and sports awards (especially the boys handball team) We are interested in achieving modern teaching process, capable to compete to any other kind of school from our town. We desire to create a pleasant environment capable to call the pupils' attention, giving them the opportunity to achieve all their demands and we try to accomplish the most propitious relation between children and teachers.
