Our school is quite a big one, with almost 60 teachers, one of them is an English language assistant coming from Essex, England and about 900 students. It is located in a peaceful part of the town and surrounded by a great park, Gimnazija Ravne na Koroškem is a school where students from entire Koroška region can get the best education for further study. Over 200 students successfully finish the matura, the national external exam, every year and their results place our school among the best schools of the kind in Slovenia. There are six general classes and a sport one every year, which is especially suitable for young, talented students who want to join sports and study. Besides regular curricular activities Gimnazija offers also various extra curricular activities, such as Slovene and English debate, a theatre course, social care where students help younger children who have problems at school, research work, international projects, etc.
Because sport represents an important part of healthy life, our school provides us with many chances for exercising during PE classes as our facilities are abundant, we have an indoor swimming pool, a fitness studio, tennis courts. We can ski on the ski slope behind a big stadium, play table tennis, do all kind of activities in a nice gym, etc. Due to all these reasons and there are some more we like our school and that’s what fills us with satisfaction and makes our stay at Gimnazija much easier. Of course we could say much more about our school but we can only say that it is almost a school you can only dream about.
