Gesamtschule is a comprehensive school, is the only secondary school in Schermbeck. About 70 teachers teach about 1000 students from Schermbeck and the surrounding area with the option to take different exams at the end of their school careers.
Gesamtschule mainly concentrates on science, music and sports. So far we have staged a well-known play every two years for example Mozart's Zauberflöte, Starlight-Express, Maffay's Tabaluga und Lilli as well as Humperdinck's Hänsel & Gretel. At present we are already planning the next performance.
In their spare-time the students can join different clubs such as pottery, building marionettes, painting, woodwork as well as cooking, baking and type writing. It is also possible to play football, basketball, badminton or to take up riding.
Many students are in the choir which has recorded two compact discs and appeared in many public performances.Of course our students learn foreign languages, the options are English, French and Latin
