Bio Easter Eggs

The eggs will be more appetizing if they will be painted with natural colours. It takes more time to colour them, but they will be more tasteful and healthier.

Red easter eggs
We cook red onion peels together with eggs for half an hour. The longer we cook the eggs, the more bright and shiny the colours will be.

VIolet
We put hard-boiled eggs in grape juice to which we added some lemon juice and leave them over night.

Pink
We put hard-boiled eggs into cranberry or beetroot juice and leave them in for a long time.

Golden brown
We cook ordinary onion pells together with white eggs for about an hour.
Green
We put the eggs into thick spinach sauce.

Brown
We add a spoon instant coffee and half a spoon vinegar into a cup of boiled water and leave the eggs in it over the night.

Easter eggs made from paper napkins

We need:
 paper napkins with Easter motives
 glue
 eggs
 soft brush

We cut out the motives just from the first layer of napkins and we stick them on the eggs. We aplly the glue with a brush on the egg and repeat it several times. That way the glue gets dry and napkins stay smooth.

Shining Easter Eggs

We need:
 eggs
 shining acrylic paint in yellow, pink, white, blue, green and violet colour
 sponge

For colouring the eggs we use a sponge. We paint the top of the egg with one of the colours. When the colour is half dry we change the colour and paint from where we stopped. Colours should pour over. We repeat this until the whole egg is coloured.

Romantic Easter Eggs with lacework

We need:
 eggs
 lacework or knitted products
 acrylic paints
 glue

We colour eggs with acrylic paints and let them dry out. Then we stick small lacework or knitted products on them.

Easter Eggs with a good wish

We need:
 eggs
 pastel colours for eggs
 thiner black pen

We colour the eggs in pastel colours, dry them and write a good wish, a poem or a name on them.

Easter eggs with seeds

We need:
 eggs
 rice
 sunflower seeds
 dry leaves
 acrylic colours
 middle size brush
 small decorations
 white glue

We put different seeds on a paper plate. We apply the glue on one part of the eggs and roll the in seeds. We repeat the procedure until the whole egg is covered with seeds. Wait until the glue is dry and colour the eggs with acrylic colours. The colours should be bright and shiny. When the colour is dry you can decorate them with small decorations.

Easter eggs from Bela Krajina

These are the most famous Slovene easter eggs – pisanice. They are decorated with wax, black and red colour or with onion peel and vinegar. The eggs must be white. The famous patterns are made with a sharp blade or with a razor. When the patterb is finished we smear the egg with some oil or butter to make them shine.
