Every country has special dishes which Christmas dinner consist of. Typical meals for Christmas in Slovakia are: Before main dishes people eat wafers with honey and small piece of garlic. Dinner consist of two main dishes. The first main dish is sauerkraut soup, which is soup made from sauerkraut, mushrooms, slices of sausage. Other ingredients depend on traditions of  the part of the country where people live.
The second main dish is fish and potatoes salad which is made from boiled potatoes cut into small cubes then carrot, pickles, onion, hard-boiled eggs cut into small cubes too, mayonnaise, and then mixed everything together. Fish is fried in breadcrumbs. After both main dishes people eat Lok¹e which is food made from pieces of baked risen dough raisins with poppy seed. Then people eat fruit, apples, oranges, pineapples, bananas, nuts and a lot of cakes. After Christmas dinner people go to a Christmas tree where they find Christmas presents
