Like other depressed
individuals, sufferers of PMS related depression crave carbohydrates. A
seratonin deficit may be related to premenstrual depression in some women.
A high
carbohydrate diet, with good sources of Tryptophan (milk products and
turkey), may help inprove seratonin production for these women.
A vitamin B6
connection is also suspected in PMS depressions. A controversy about this
currently exists in the scientific community. While the scientists sort it
all out, you can eat foods rich in Vitamin B6 as part
of your healthy diet. Those also high in carbohydrate (fruit, grains and
beans) may be especially helpful with the depression.
