After dinner on Christmas day everybody has a desert. My favourite is Ice cream and jelly, but others have Fruit salad, plum pudding, rhubarb tart, fruit, apple tart, Christmas cake or chocolate and strawberry cake.

Mince pies ingredients
I love to help my mammy make mince pies (personal)
1 lemon
1 cooking apple
225 g/ 8 o /1 ½ cup currents
11og/ 4 oz ¾ cup sultanas
55 g/ 2 oz/ 1/3 cup candied peel
450 g/ 2lb/ 2 cups firmly packed moist brown suga
225 g/ 8 oz/ 2 cups chopped suest
75 ml/ 2½ fl oz/ generous ¼ cup whiskey
1 tablespoon
Orange marmalade
Allow for 12 mince pies
225 g/ ½ lb puff or flaky pastry
½ - ¾ jar of mince meat.

How to make jelly
Get two squares of jelly,
Soak in water,
Leave over night to set.

Ingredients of vanilla ice-cream.
2 tablespoons of sugar,
1 20 ml/ 4 fl oz/ ½ cup of water,
2 egg yolks,
½ teaspoon vanilla essence,
6 20 ml/ 1 pt/ 2 ½ cups whipped cream.
