He finished higher school for decorative art in Trieste and after that he stidied in Venice. He took degree on The Zagreb Academy in 1931, an after his coming back from Paris he works in the grammar school of the Dominican monks in Bol on the island of Brač. From 1947 he copied old frescoes, but he also illustrated some books. His psychological portraits and autoportraits are characterized by subtle sense of humour. His still natures and landscapes are painted with broad movements of brush and it made them close to postimpressionism.
